This creature, this Degue was unimaginably big, almost two times the size of even Globus, the tallest person there. His horns were impeccably sharp and his muscles rippled with even the most subtle move, four sturdy legs holding his strong core up. He leaned over and huffed in devonshire's face, his face nearly the size of the leader's whole body. "So," He murmured, "You and your pack of renegades didn't bother to follow my instructions. Well, that's all right, I was rather hoping for a fight anyway."

Never had they seen their leader visibly agitated before, but Devonshire didn't take a single step backwards even as the monster's hot breath nearly blew him over. He tightly shut his eyes and quickly re-opened them, a brilliant light shooting from him to Degue. With a howl, the monster stumbled backwards, confused. The Sableye clawed into the ground. "Listen rogues and lawyers, I'm going to run. You won't beat the monster, but hold him off for five minutes. That will be enough!"

With these last words, Devonshire vanished into the earth, leaving his apprentices to deal with the recovering beast. Degue shook off the last of his confusion and looked around. "Wha…Devonshire!"

He turned to run down the hall, but suddenly Thane ran forward and slammed the beast's underside with a sky uppercut. "Y-you can never stop our ideals!" He yelled, shaking like a leaf.

Degue flinched and twisted to look the trembling Riolu in the eyes. "Really? You're still fighting? Allright, I'll humor you!"

The terrible legend suddenly reared up on his hind legs and brought his front hooves down hard. Thane just barely managed to jump out of the way, but before he could so much as think, Degue twisted his head sending a huge horn into Thane's torso.  The Riolu didn't even have time to comprehend the pain he was in when he slammed into the wall of the cave. With a cry of rage the Cubone attacked Degue, aided by Dahlia. As this happened Globus could only stare at the monster. From what he heard, Degue only wanted to stop them, so why was he wasting time so willingly. The Slowpoke met the immense creature's yellow eyes and suddenly the answer was painfully clear: this tower which brought out the very worst in the rogues also brought out the very worst in him, the bloodlust. Suddenly, eyes locked with those of a mad creature and his two helpless teammates cradled in his arms, Globus felt very alone.

Meanwhile, Alfonso slammed the beast's knees again and again with Bone rush. It was all he could reach. As he did this, Dahlia repeatedly used nasty plot, clearly planning something. Degue gave what was almost a laugh and, in one swift movement, lifted the Cubone with his horn and threw him into the Misdreavus. While both were still in the air, he sliced them both with a stone edge, causing both to lose consciousness.

"M-mister lawyer," Caroline whispered, "don't you know any water type moves?"

As she said this, Degue began to walk towards them. TJ ran out to him and used confuse ray just as Devonshire had. Just as before, Degue staggered. "I do," Globus responded to Caroline, "But I need one hand free to use it."

Spencer quickly tore Feathery from his arms. As tempted as he was to protest, Globus didn't get a chance as the Terrakion regained his senses and slammed the Ralts into his partner with one hoof. Globus was terrified when suddenly he felt something at his chest and heard a crack. Looking down into his arms he saw the egg cracking open and no longer felt so alone.  He gently lifted it closer to his face and whispered a plan, praying that whatever was inside understood. "Tyrogue, Spencer was it? Distract him for five seconds."

Spencer nodded and charged (still holding Feathery), stopping Degue as he had begun to walk away. His mach punch was barely enough to be noticed, but it was enough.  He then followed up with Fake out, which caused the beast to flinch. After that he was thrown out of the way, but this distraction was enough for Globus to get out in front of him. Degue gave a mad grin and charged at him, horns first. The slowpoke figured that he must weigh about six-hundred pounds and, though he couldn't remember how to calculate force, that that much going at ramming speed topped with sharp horns would be likely to pierce his ribcage and shatter every bone not snapped. As the monster charged Globus could see the shine on his horns. Closer and he could see the mud on his hooves. Closer still and he saw what he was looking for, a thin blue veil clinging to Degue's face. Shadow-light.

Globus gently gripped his newly hatched teammate behind his back, took a deep breath and used flamethrower. The fire enveloped Degue's body, causing his charge to slow. His left horn pierced Globus's right shoulder, causing the flames to stop. Globus bit back the scream that wanted to escape and instead yelled "Now, kid, now!"

Suddenly, while Degue's horn was still trapped in Globus's shoulder, a pink fleeced Mareep slipped out of Globus's hands where he was holding her behind his back. She slipped around and rubbed up on the monster's foot, paralyzing him. The beast, meanwhile, came back to his senses and stared at Globus, shocked. "Wha-what have I…the Dragon!" He tossed the Slowpoke to the side and tried to run, but his left side collapsed beneath him. Refusing to give up, he continued to stagger forward towards the darkness.

Globus clutched his shoulder, pressing on it to slow the bleeding. The little Mareep walked up to him and nudged his side. "Daddy, are you okay?" she asked.

"Daddy," the Slowpoke thought. Under different circumstances he would have laughed at the absurdity of it. "Yeah, I'll be fine," He coughed, "You just rest, honey, you did excellently." As he reassured her Globus wondered if he would die.

She seemed to accept this and curled up next to him. Spencer came over. He was the least injured of them all and the only one besides Globus still awake. "All the others are fine. Including your partner." He gently laid Feathery down next to him and pulled out some cotton and gauze to dress the shoulder wound. "I'm not great at this, but Missy taught me a little. Do you think we gave Devonshire enough time?"

Globus looked down the hall at the receding form of Degue. "Who knows."
